Data sources

CharityIQ is grounded AI: every figure it produces is drawn from a verified source you can check, not invented. These are the public registers and datasets it relies on.

Charity Commission registers

We use the public Register of Charities to start every draft from your charity’s real, verified profile — registration details, income band, trustees and filing history. We use the Charity Commission for England and Wales, plus the equivalent registers for OSCR (Scotland) and the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland.

360Giving and GrantNav

Our Grant Finder matching is powered by open UK grants data — which funders give, to whom, and how much — published through the 360Giving standard and explorable via GrantNav, alongside direct funder feeds.

Office for National Statistics (ONS)

When an application needs evidence of local need, we cite official statistics — population, deprivation and wellbeing data — from the Office for National Statistics, so the Need section of your bid is sourced rather than guessed.

GOV.UK and Charity Commission guidance

Our compliance tools are mapped to official guidance on GOV.UK — including the Charity Commission’s CC3 trustee guidance, internal financial controls (CC8), the Charities SORP, and annual return requirements.

Fundraising Regulator

Fundraising guidance is aligned to the Fundraising Regulator‘s Code of Fundraising Practice.

How we use these sources

Every claim CharityIQ generates about your charity, your funders or your sector links back to its source, is logged in an audit trail, and is reviewed by a human before it is used. Your own data is never used to train AI models.
