Feature

Charity impact measurement that funders actually read

CharityIQ's impact dashboard turns your programme data into funder-ready outcomes, built on the framework you choose — theory of change, IRIS+, NPC or your own. Capture beneficiary surveys and outcomes once, then reuse them in a master report that adapts to each funder's format. Consent tracking and ethical anonymisation are built in.

Frequently asked questions

Impact measurement assesses the change a charity creates — not just what it did (outputs) but the difference it made (outcomes). It usually means choosing a framework, defining indicators, gathering evidence from beneficiaries, and reporting the results to funders, trustees and the public.

Outputs are what you deliver — sessions run, meals served, people seen. Outcomes are the changes that result — improved wellbeing, people housed, skills gained. Funders fund outcomes, and CharityIQ coaches you to turn output counts into evidenced outcomes.

A theory of change maps how and why your activities lead to the long-term change you want. It sets out your activities, the short- and medium-term outcomes they produce, and the ultimate impact — making your logic explicit for funders and for your own planning.

SROI expresses the social value a charity creates relative to the money invested, often as a ratio such as £4 of social value for every £1 invested. It puts a monetary proxy on outcomes so funders and social investors can compare impact. CharityIQ supports SROI alongside other frameworks.

It depends on your funders and your work. Theory of change suits almost everyone as a foundation; Outcomes Star fits keywork services; SROI suits funders who want value ratios; IRIS+ suits social investors. CharityIQ lets you pick one or map one evidence base to several.

Increasingly, yes. Most trusts and foundations now ask for outcome evidence, not just activity counts, and SORP 2026 strengthens impact and performance reporting in the Trustees' Annual Report for larger charities.

You record your outcomes and evidence once; CharityIQ maps them to your chosen framework, builds live dashboards, and formats funder-ready reports. Every figure is grounded in the data you entered, so reports are accurate and defensible — nothing is invented.

Yes — that's the point. Your latest evidenced outcomes flow straight into grant applications and your Trustees' Annual Report, so you measure once and reuse everywhere instead of rewriting your impact story for every funder.
