How to use this: adapt it to your charity and keep the language non-contractual. It is a statement of mutual expectations, signed in good faith, not an employment contract.

Volunteer agreement — [Charity name]

Thank you for volunteering with [Charity name]. This agreement sets out what
you can expect from us and what we hope for from you. It is not a contract of
employment and is not legally binding.

What you can expect from us:
- A clear description of your volunteer role and a named contact.
- An induction and any training your role needs.
- Reimbursement of reasonable, agreed out-of-pocket expenses (with receipts).
- To be treated with respect and kept safe, in line with our policies.
- To be listened to, and to be able to raise any concern.

What we hope for from you:
- To carry out your role willingly and to the best of your ability.
- To follow our policies, including safeguarding and confidentiality.
- To let us know if you cannot attend when expected.
- To tell us if something is not working, so we can help.

Expenses: we reimburse actual out-of-pocket costs such as travel, on production
of receipts. We do not pay volunteers for their time.

This agreement is binding in honour only and does not create an employment or
worker relationship.
