Charity deadlines calendar

This calendar puts the UK charity year on one page — your filing deadlines, Gift Aid windows, key tax dates and the sector’s fixed events — so nothing important slips. Enter your financial year-end and the tool works out your personal filing dates; you can download it as a calendar file or a printable PDF.
How to use it
- Enter your charity’s financial year-end date.
- Select your structure (a charitable company also has Companies House deadlines).
- See your personal deadlines alongside the fixed sector dates.
- Download the calendar (.ics) to add it to your calendar app, or the printable PDF for the noticeboard.
The dates it uses, and their sources
- Annual return (Charity Commission, E&W): within 10 months of financial year-end.
- Accounts and Trustees’ Annual Report (Charity Commission): filed with the annual return, within 10 months of year-end (for those required to file them).
- Company accounts (Companies House), charitable companies: within 9 months of year-end.
- Gift Aid claims (HMRC): within 4 years of the end of the financial period the donation was received in.
- VAT (if registered): registration threshold £90,000 rolling 12-month taxable turnover; VAT returns and payments usually quarterly.
- Trustees’ Week: 9–13 November 2026.
- GivingTuesday: 1 December 2026.
- Major recurring funder deadlines: pulled from the /funders/ directory.
Sources: gov.uk / Charity Commission (annual return); Companies House (company accounts); HMRC (Gift Aid time limit; VAT threshold); Trustees’ Week and GivingTuesday organisers. Verified 10 July 2026; Scotland (OSCR) and Northern Ireland (CCNI) filing dates differ.
How to read your result
This is guidance, not advice. Filing deadlines depend on your exact year-end and structure, and Scotland and Northern Ireland differ from England and Wales — confirm your own dates on the regulator’s site. Fixed sector dates can change year to year, so re-check annually. Funder deadlines must always be verified on the funder’s own page.
CharityIQ can keep your deadlines and funder dates in one place and remind you before each — grounded in your year-end and the funders you follow.
