Objects clause

The objects clause is the most consequential paragraph in a governing document. Everything the charity does must fall within it.

Spending charitable funds outside the objects is acting outside the charity’s powers, whatever the merits of the activity. Objects too narrow constrain the charity; objects too vague can fail the charitable purposes test at registration.
