Cross-border charity

A charity registered in England and Wales that works in Scotland may need to register with OSCR as well. The condition is more specific than most people assume.

An unregistered body may only represent itself as a charity in Scotland if it meets every condition — including not occupying land or premises there and not operating an office or shop there. Deliver services without premises and you may stay outside; open an office and you do not.
