Interim manager

This is the most serious intervention short of removing the charity from the register.

The Commission may appoint an interim manager where it has opened a statutory inquiry and considers there has been misconduct or mismanagement, or that charity property needs protecting. The manager may act instead of the trustees.

The costs are normally borne by the charity, which is one reason engaging early with a compliance case matters.
