PVG scheme

Scotland does not simply run a Scottish version of DBS. PVG works differently in kind.

PVG is a membership scheme: a person joins and their record is monitored on an ongoing basis, with Disclosure Scotland notifying of new information. DBS in England and Wales is a point-in-time check unless the update service is used.
