Donor thank-you wording (three tones)

How to use this: pick the tone that fits your charity and the donor, then personalise it — add their name and tie it to something specific their gift helps. Keep it honest; do not claim one gift achieved a specific outcome it cannot be tied to.

Warm and personal

Dear [First name],

Thank you so much for your gift of £[amount] to [Charity name]. Support like
yours helps us [specific, honest thing it makes possible]. It really does make
a difference, and we're grateful you chose to help.

With warm thanks,
[Name], [Charity name]

Short and sincere (card or text)

Thank you for your kind gift of £[amount]. It helps us [short, honest phrase].
We're truly grateful.
[Charity name]

More formal

Dear [Title and surname],

On behalf of [Charity name], thank you for your generous donation of £[amount].
Your support enables us to [honest description of the work it supports], and we
are grateful for your commitment to [cause].

Yours sincerely,
[Name], [Role], [Charity name]

Note: if the donor has made a Gift Aid declaration, a thank-you can be a natural place to confirm it, but do not imply tax relief that does not apply. Do not include an immediate second ask.
